Meet Robson Jr: The Next Generation Gracie

The Gracie family require no introduction. From the beginning of BJJ to today, they have been there every step of the way. Now a new generation is leading the charge and at the head of it is Robson Gracie Jr.

Based in New York City, Robson Jr trains and teaches at he brother Renzo’s famous academy. He is the son of Robson Sr and grandson of Carlos, the founder of Gracie Jiu Jitsu. BJJ is in Robson Jr’s blood. Robson started training aged 3 years old and has lived and breathed Jiu Jitsu his whole life.

The young two stripe black belt is not just an IBJJF world champion grappler: he has some legit striking skills too, earning him a spot on Bellator, where he has a record of 3 wins and only 1 loss. Aside from New York City, Robson finds himself in demand all over the world. From his native Rio de Janeiro, to the West Coast, to Europe, the 32 year old Brazilian is hot property on the BJJ circuit.

Robson feels most at home in New York City where he coaches the young fighters at Renzo Gracie Academy. His older brother has been an inspiration for Robson, especially when Renzo took an MMA fight aged 51. When Robson was training at Brazilian Top Team in 2014, his MMA debut fell through 3 times, so Renzo called up his youngest brother and told him to come to New York City. The rest is history.

This is where Revgear and Robson’s paths connect.

Revgear has a long heritage in the sport. Just before the global pandemic, Revgear’s first dedicated BJJ line launched and impressed everyone who used the signature kimonos, particularly the superb Venice Gi. The search for the right face for the Revgear Jiu Jitsu line was hard.

Enter Robson Gracie Jr.

The synergy is perfect. There is no one better to represent what the Revgear BJJ line represents than Robson. The modern face of Gracie Jiu Jitsu has a deep heritage, but is at the cutting edge of the sport. Revgear has a long history of producing kimonos, but is currently producing the best gis in the business.

Robson and Revgear are the perfect partnership, rooted in the heritage of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but forward thinking, looking to the future, striving for perfection.
