Mushroom Master Blend is a widely known and popular blend of mushrooms designed to improve cognitive function, memory, and overall health markers such as immune support.
It comes flavored and unflavored so that you can have it on its own, with a smoothie, or with a coffee. This is likely the key to its success, as you notice some issues when you examine the formula closely.
For this reason, I don’t recommend this product and suggest you look elsewhere for your mushroom fix. It still offers higher doses and better extracts than anyone else.
Pros
- A cost-effective mushroom powder
- Ashwagandha provides stress relief
- It contains 10 organic whole-food mushrooms
Cons
- Proprietary blend obscures dosing information
- Most ingredients incapable of significant dosage within the 2g blend
Quick Verdict
While OM Mushroom Master Blend may provide a small positive effect, only one ingredient is dosed adequately.
For an effective mushroom supplement, I recommend Nootrum. It’s better dosed than anything else on the market, contains the correct amounts of 11 well-backed ingredients, and has a money-back guarantee.
Who Are Om?
The word “Om” here stands for “Organic Mushrooms,” a brand started because of a shared passion for mushrooms and their nutritional properties.
They’ve since provided many mushroom supplements in powders, gummies, and capsules.
Om Mushroom Master Blend Ingredients
One thing to note immediately is using a proprietary blend, meaning we have no idea how each ingredient is individually dosed. The entire mushroom blend contains 2g, and the ingredients must be listed in descending order.
With this information, we can deduce some doses that may be correct, but as you’ll soon discover, it’s not looking suitable for Om here.
Organic Lion’s Mane
Lion’s Mane is a popular mushroom used for medicine and culinary purposes. Its rich flavor and impressive health benefits make it a popular choice.
Regarding research, Lions Mane is likely the most well-researched and understood fungi on the planet.
It’s thought to improve brain health and function directly, boosting cognitive ability, brain cell growth, blood flow to the brain, and much more.
A large body of evidence supports Lions Mane as a physical enhancer. It can reduce inflammation, improve nerve growth factor, and improve endurance by aiding in oxygen utilization for increased energy levels.
To be considered a clinically significant dose, we’d need about 500mg, leaving around 1,500 for the rest of the formula [1].
Organic Cordyceps
Well known for its use in traditional Chinese medicine, Cordyceps is another widely researched and well-understood mushroom.
It’s one of the purest nootropics when it comes to mushrooms, helping to improve mental clarity and concentration, as well as combating cognitive decline by encouraging new brain cells to grow.
Physically, it reduces inflammation, improves heart health, and improves the body’s tolerance for illness.
In terms of dosage, we’d want to see about 1,000mg, but with it coming after Lion’s Mane, its dosage won’t exceed 500mg, meaning this will likely not have the effects you’re hoping for [2].
Organic King Trumpet
More commonly known for its unique flavor and use in recipes, King Trumpet has recently been the subject of some research into its potential medicinal effects.
So far, testing has yet to leave the animal stages, but the data is promising. It shows anti-obesity capabilities and is noted for improving nitric oxide production, which improves sexual function.
Regarding dosing, it’s hard to say how much will be effective for humans without any data, but it will likely be more than the amount here.
Organic Turkey Tail
This mushroom grows worldwide and is known for its high amounts of antioxidants.
This is how Turkey Tail can improve the immune system and gut health, improving digestion and reducing inflammation [3].
You don’t need a lot of Turkey Tail for it to be effective, which could indicate that it’s this high up, which means we’re almost out of room already.
Organic Maitake
Maitake is another mushroom filled with potent antioxidants, which is notably full of vitamins and minerals and contains beta-glucans that make it ideal for improving brain and immune health.
It’s found to help control blood sugar, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure [4].
Like Turkey Tail, you don’t need a lot of this for it to have positive effects. However, it’s a slightly less well-researched ingredient so that more data could reveal significant dosing information.
Organic Reishi
This mushroom has been extensively used in traditional Chinese medicine and has since received considerable attention as more clinical data has been released.
It’s thought to improve mood by providing stress relief, help maintain concentration, and improve blood sugar and blood pressure. It’s been used to combat metabolic syndrome, fatigue, and other health conditions [5].
The issue here is that the dosage will be nowhere near where it needs to be, with a dose of around 800mg/kg being found to be effective in trials.
Organic Chaga
Chaga is a macroscopic mushroom species that grows on the side of birch trees in colder climates across North America, Northern Europe, and Asia.
It’s full of polyphenols and melanin, which boost immune health and reduce blood sugar and cholesterol. This has led to its use in treating fatigue in patients and some chronic diseases [6].
Once again, dosing is an issue as it’s found to be helpful at 50-100mg/kg.
Organic Shiitake
Shiitake is one of the more widely known health mushrooms, and it has a long history of use in traditional Asian cuisine and medicine.
It contains large amounts of essential vitamins, such as vitamin D and many B vitamins, which provide protection against deficiencies in these areas and boost mental fortitude, mood regulation, brain fog, and fatigue [7].
Dosing will unsurprisingly be far below what is considered clinically significant here.
Organic Antrodia
Unique to Taiwan, this mushroom was once prized for its medicinal power but never entirely made it to the Western world until recent studies showed its potential.
Studies have shown that Antrodia exhibits blood sugar control and antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and gut health-enhancing properties [8].
Its effects are usually considered to be reliably observed at a dose of 40mg/kg daily, but there is just not enough room at this point.
Organic Agaricus Blazei
Also known as the Royal Sun Agaricus, this mushroom is native to Brazil and the surrounding South American area.
It’s thought to improve liver and immune function and help control mood and hunger cravings.
Physically, it is thought to improve strength and endurance, joint health, and heart and digestive health [9].
As the last ingredient in the blend, there’s likely a minimal dose of this ingredient, so to avoid sounding like a broken record, let’s just move on.
Ashwagandha – 250mg
Ashwagandha has gained popularity in recent years. Thanks to its powerful ability to reduce cortisol, it is now one of the most commonly found ingredients in supplements.
This stress hormone shows how Ashwagandha can reduce stress and help induce a calm state in those who take it enough [10].
Effective doses of Ashwagandha typically fall between 500 and 600mg daily, which is also very underdosed.

The OM Mushroom Master Blend contains various mushrooms, such as Turkey Tail and Reishi, which are well-known for their immune-boosting properties.
Turkey Tail, in particular, is one of the most researched mushrooms for supporting immune health. Regular intake may help strengthen your body’s natural defense mechanisms, making you more resilient to common illnesses.
Enhanced Mental Clarity and Focus
Lion’s Mane mushroom, a key ingredient in the blend, is praised for supporting cognitive function, including memory, focus, and mental clarity.
This makes the Master Blend an excellent supplement for those looking to maintain or enhance brain health and function, especially during stress or intense mental activity.
Increased Energy and Endurance
Cordyceps, another significant blend component, is renowned for its ability to boost energy levels and improve endurance naturally.
It supports better oxygen utilization and ATP production, which is crucial for athletes and anyone looking to sustain higher energy levels throughout the day.
Stress Management
Reishi and botanical adaptogens like Holy Basil and Ashwagandha help the body adapt to physical and mental stress.
These ingredients are known to help balance cortisol levels, reducing the impact of stress on the body and mind, which can lead to improved overall well-being.
Gut Health and Detoxification
Mushrooms like Maitake and Shiitake contribute to gut health by supporting the digestive system and promoting healthy blood sugar levels.
Additionally, the blend’s detoxification properties help cleanse the body of toxins, supporting liver function and overall health.

Chaga mushroom, often called the “king of medicinal mushrooms,” is rich in antioxidants that help combat oxidative stress, a critical factor in aging. This makes the OM Mushroom Master Blend a valuable ally in maintaining youthful energy and appearance.
Support for Healthy Blood Sugar Levels
Maitake, included in the blend, has been shown to support healthy blood sugar levels, making it beneficial for those managing their glucose levels. This is particularly important for long-term metabolic health.

My Experience With Om Mushroom Master Blend
When I first tried this mushroom blend, I was quite surprised to have a lot of energy at the start of my day, but I found myself crashing.
I quickly realized it was because I wasn’t usually drinking a cup of coffee daily, so I decided to use it in smoothies instead.
This is where I realized the mushroom blend wasn’t helping me much. The best effect was forcing me to buy more fruit than usual, so I was eating better.
That’s not exactly why I purchased a mushroom powder, though; overall, I found it very underwhelming.
Customer Experiences With Om Mushroom Master Blend
The customer reception here is primarily positive on Amazon, but this should be taken carefully. A whopping 71% of all reviews left are perfect 5 stars, and while we can’t know that they’re faking these reviews, it’s a common industry practice, so it similarly cannot be ruled out.
A lot of the reviews seem suspiciously knowledgeable, and while it is not impossible that people have simply done their research, there’s little reason for all the marketing buzzwords, so I have my suspicions.
Where people are critical, it’s a combination of disliking the texture (not a problem I shared) and finding it to not deliver on the claims made.
However, Trustpilot has a much better system for detecting fake reviews, and it tells an entirely different story with an abysmal 1.9 out of 5 stars.
This rating is achieved despite 50% of all reviews being perfect 5 stars, as Trustpilot marks down companies when it detects fake reviews and other factors, including how they do not respond to any negative reviews.

Nootrum Mushrooms
As you can see from the extensive ingredients breakdown here, there is much clinical evidence for the health benefits of mushroom supplements. Nootrum is a shining example, providing the highest available doses thanks to its clever extraction process.
There are many shared ingredients, with the bulk of Nootrum’s formula being made up of Cordyceps, Reishi, Shiitake, and Lions Mane. These are all provided at 266mg, which, of course, isn’t enough—not until you account for the 20-time concentration.
This has allowed Nootrum to keep the serving size to only 2 capsules per serving while providing a potent and reliable supplement.
With Nootrum, you’re sure to feel a massive boost in cognitive and physical health, with a far improved immune response and better control over blood pressure and blood sugar.
It’s why it’s ranked my best mushroom supplement.
When taking Nootrum mushrooms, I feel at my best, able to tackle the issues in front of me effectively. Plus, I never get sick when I’m taking Nootrum, and that seems to last even a few weeks after stopping.
If you want an in-depth breakdown of my thoughts, you can read my Nootrum review here.
Genius Mushrooms
Genius Mushrooms is a budget-friendly mushroom nootropic supplement that includes three organic mushrooms: Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, and Reishi.
While it offers potential benefits like improved mental clarity, mood, and immune function, its effectiveness is limited by the low dosages of Cordyceps and Reishi, which are insufficient to deliver their full benefits.
The supplement is most effective due to the adequately dosed Lion’s Mane, but overall, its popularity seems driven more by price than potency.
You can read my in-depth Genius Mushrooms review here.
Summary
Om contains everything it needs to be an excellent mushroom powder, but unfortunately, it fails to consider the clinical data’s dosing requirements. This is why I would highly recommend Nootrum if you’re looking for a genuinely brilliant mushroom supplement.
