F2W 108 Set to Take Philly by Storm on April 12th

The latest instalment of Fight 2 Win, F2W 108, features seven title fights and a main event that sees the return of Wolverine.

The 36-match F2W 108 event, at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on Friday April 12th, is looking to be every bit as exciting as we have come to expect from the promotion. Four of the seven title fights will be the feature bouts of the evening, culminating with a main event that sees hometown boy William Wolk face off against Eddie Cummings for the Featherweight NOGI title.

While there will be a lot of great matches at F2W 108, let’s take a look at the four major titles that are up for grabs. First up is the Masters Welter Weight Gi Title between challenger Daniel Tavares of SAS and holder Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa of Soul Fighters. Formiga just defended his title last month at F2W 106 in Fort Lauderdale, but returns to face off against New Jersey-based Tavares.

Next up is the Straw Weight Black Belt GI Title that sees Patricia “Pati” Fontes of Checkmat meet Mayssa “Pequena Notável” Bastos of GFT. The match up between two Rio-based fighters is set to electric, with Bastos having won almost every major tournament in 2018 and 2019. The Heavy Weight Black Belt Gi Title matches Aaron “Tex” Johnson of Unity Jiu Jitsu against Gutemberg Pereira of GFT, before the main event of the evening.

The main event of F2W 108 is the Black Belt Feather Weight NOGI Title between Eddie “Wolverine” Cummings of Unity Jiu Jitsu and William Wolk of Tac Team. Wolk is the hometown favourite, carrying with him the local crowd who will be shouting him at every turn, but Cummings brings an exceptional wealth of experience and knowledge to the match. Returning to the mat after a year out of competition, Cummings is the first fighter that emerged from the Danaher Death Squad and is a revolutionary figure in the sport, having improved the heel hook, saddle and ashi garami for submission grappling.
