The Joy of BJJ

Joy Pendell takes us on a journey from CA to FL to fight on Fight 2 Win and express the joy of BJJ

Cali beekeeper and BJJ killer Joy Pendell and her bestie Lyzz Mytrovi?, the other half of Hoes In Kimonos, travel from Stonyford CA to Florida for Fight 2 Win in the latest instalment of Fight Day: Joy of BJJ.

With a dedication to her craft that only another BJJ practitioner could understand, Joy takes us with her as she talks about the crazy journey she has to make every day for training and online weigh ins. She then flies across the USA from Northern California to Florida to take a fight on Fight 2 Win, grappling’s biggest party during the height of lockdown.

With opponents dropping like flies in the lead up and a last minute change, nothing phases Joy as she continues on her journey to “crush bitches, make money.” With six hours to go she has to change from gi to no gi and research a new opponent: Vagner Rocha’s daughter Jasmine. Anyone who has fought will understand the wormhole of looking up an opponent online and trying to figure out how to beat them. They will also know that weird moment when you have to warm up in the same room as them, while trying not to let them get in your head.

Watch as Joy climbs trees to reach for the nuts and takes an unnecessary salt bath before killing it on the mat and taking it off in front of the camera. From sneaking onto the beach at night to smuggling nuts through security, join Revgear athlete Joy Pendell as she experiences the joy of BJJ exclusively on the Revgear Youtube channel.
