UFC NEW ZEALAND: Vinc Pichel returns to the cage.
Auckland New Zealand might seem an almost unlikely setting for Los Angeles bad boy Vinc Pichel to make his return to the UFC Octagon after a two year hiatus. Facing tough Australian fighter Damien Brown, Pichel looks to take his third victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championships and get his career back on track.
Long time friend of the REVGEAR brand, Vinc has helped out with product testing and also the now famous Revgear California Series shoots in 2016. On a personal level Vinc’s character always shines through with his natural charisma, sense of humor and general sense of fun, you just can’t help but like this guy! But love him or not the serious task of his fight career now comes back into play after a long hiatus due to injury.
Looking back over his fight record, Vinc’s only loss in ten straight fights actually came on his UFC debut at the Ultimate Fighter 16 finale against Sambo world champion Rustin Khabilov, however the American fighter made good immediately afterwards winning his next two fights before a full three year lay off.
With a fight record of 9-1 overall, Vinc will now, almost certainly be looking to break out of the prelims and perhaps be tested against some of the better known names in the lightweight division over the coming months, maybe with an eye on another familiar name, tough British fighter Ross Pearson who fights on the same card against New Zealander Dan Hooker.
With New Zealand native and well known heavy weight fighter Mark Hunt facing highly touted Derrick Lewis at the top of the bill, it could well be that the second UFC to take place in beautiful New Zealand, may well be the perfect place for the Los Angeles based, Harley Davidson riding “From Hell” Pichel, to get his career back on the road.
