The Korean Zombie is ready to rise once again
Chan Sung Jung, better known to fight fans as The Korean Zombie, is preparing for battle against a tough opponent on UFC Fight Night 154.
On June 22nd, The Korean Zombie will be stepping into the octagon in Greenville, NC to take on Renato Moicano, who holds the #5 ranking in the UFC Featherweight division. The fight is set to be a classic, with the Brazilian looking to come back from his loss against Jose Aldo, and the Korean looking to rise from his defeat by Yair Rodríguez. Both men have something to prove, but the Zombie has been quietly working hard away from the media, preparing to take down the Mohawk.
A true all-round fighter, with a background in Hapkido, Taekwondo, Judo and BJJ, The Korean Zombie has a record that shows he can win with strikes and submissions. He will always be famous for his UFC debut in 2011, where he submitted Leonard Garcia with a twister. He learned the move by watching YouTube videos of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu founder Eddie Bravo.
In preparation for his fight against Moicano, who made his way through the Brazilian Jungle Fight scene, to take on some of the best in the UFC, The Korean Zombie has been working his striking with one of the best in the business: Eddie Cha.
Moicano lost his last fight to fellow Brazilian grappler, Jose Aldo in February 2019. Aldo used his punches to stop Moicano in the second round. The Zombie saw how Moicano responded to striking in that fight and has been working with Eddie to make sure that his stand-up game is strong.
If the fight goes to the ground, then The Korean Zombie knows how to handle himself, but if the fighters stay on their feet, then The Zombie is more than prepared to take the fight to the Brazilian and add another scalp to his trophy cabinet.
