REVGEAR Partner with popular website Jits Magazine

2024 marks a new era for Revgear, the top USA Combat Sports brand, as we push ever deeper into the world of modern Jiu Jitsu. Our move into being a real force in Jiu Jitsu gear, began with the release of our first full Jiu Jitsu line in early 2019.

The immediate impact was felt at America’s premier pro Jiu Jitsu event, Fight2Win. Our Venice and El Matador Gi’s , in particular, was embraced by top coaches and athletes alike, with endorsements from prominent figures in the sport such as Robson Gracie Jr., Joy Pendell, Liam Cann, Angel Lopez, Andre Gomes, and UFC legend/BJJ Black Belt Matt Serra.

Like many in the Jiu Jitsu community, we faced significant challenges during the pandemic, losing over two years of momentum as the sport came to a halt worldwide. However, 2024 signifies the next chapter for REVGEAR Jiu Jitsu, and we are thrilled to partner with the esteemed Jits Magazine.

The Background

In a recent video about the making of our signature ‘Venice’ Gi, Alex Wright, Revgear’s brand director and a Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, emphasised our commitment to returning to our roots and expanding our presence in the Jiu Jitsu world. “We were there from the beginning when brands like Vitamins and Minerals, Hunter, and Keiko Raca were around. While these brands were Brazilian, Revgear was one of the original American brands in the sport. We’re returning to our roots,” Alex Wright explained.

Expanding Our Jiu Jitsu Range

Revgear is excited to announce the expansion of our Jiu Jitsu product line. We are introducing new Gi designs that cater to both traditional and modern practitioners. Additionally, we are launching a full new No Gi range, featuring rash guards, shorts, and spats designed for maximum performance and comfort. This expansion reflects our dedication to providing top-quality gear for all aspects of Jiu Jitsu training and competition.

Moreover, we are expanding our Jiu Jitsu athlete sponsorship program through our Fight Tribe program. This initiative aims to support up-and-coming athletes, providing them with the gear and resources they need to succeed. By nurturing new talent, we hope to contribute to the growth and development of the Jiu Jitsu community worldwide.

Partnering with Jits Magazine

We are excited to team up with such a respected online magazine like Jits Magazine. Our shared passion for the sport made this partnership a natural fit. Initially, we planned to sponsor the BJJ rankings which are explained by JITS Magazines Alex Lindsay below:

Basically we collect the results of every event throughout the month and then apply them to the rankings at the end of the month, announcing the changes on the 1st with a monthly update article. Competitors move up and down based on the month’s results and then I reach out to anyone who’s entered the rankings or broke into a higher level (top 10, top 5 etc) to let them know as well, so it tends to get shared heavily on social media from about 1st to 3rd of the month, then it’s essentially like a steady stream of hits for the rest of the month.

As we discussed further, we realised the immense value we could add to each other’s media. Thus, our collaboration was born.

“It was great to team up with Alex Lindsay of Jits Magazine,” says Alex Wright. “We both share such a passion for the sport and even a first name! Once we started talking, we realised there was so much more value we could add to one another’s media, so we said, ‘Let’s roll!’”

The Future

Alex from Revgear will be contributing a regular column to Jits Magazine, offering insights into aspects of the industry rarely seen from the outside. Topics will include the sponsorship game, the role of combat sports brands in the sport, and the emergence of the global Jiu Jitsu subculture. This column will also introduce some of the athletes we work with, providing the community with inside industry information.
