UFC LONDON: ARNOLD ALLEN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

One of the UK’s brightest up and comers in the Ultimate Fighting Championships featherweight division Arnold “Almighty” Allen, has now spent the last 12 months or so, training with the world’s best Mixed Martial Arts athletes at the famous Tristar gym in Montreal, Canada and under the watchful eye of Canadian Muay Thai Fighter and Tristar founder, Firas Zahabi. Rubbing shoulders with names such as George St Pierre and Rory Macdonald, promise great things for the English UFC Starlet who has a headline grabbing fight lined up in London with fellow rising UFC star, Mister Finland Makwan Amirkhani.

Arnold has been a fan of Revgear for many years and approached us in late 2014 while fighting under the British Cagewarriors Fighting Championships promotion. Revgear is regularly approached by up and coming fighters for sponsorship, but it was Arnold’s enthusiasm for the brand and the bright spark of a serious talent, that shone through. Revgear and Allen have worked together ever since.

Literally a few weeks after his first photo shoot with our UK division, Arnold got the call for the UFC to fight in Berlin against the tough German Alan Omer. Beating the German by submission, he went on to defeat Yaotzin Meza in London on last year’s London card. Although the records show the fight was called in as a unanimous decision, they don’t tell the story of the bell ending the fight, split seconds before what was almost certainly to be a TKO finish, to a flurry from the Englishman’s sharp boxing skills. Many will look at the 2017 fight with Amirkhanni as a career defining fight potentially for both men.

Many will see the fight against Amirkhani as a potentially defining moment in his career.

In this exclusive interview with Revgear Media, Arnold talks about life at Tristar, missing home comforts and what the future holds for him within the UFC, as well as his favorite Revgear equipment!

Fight wise, Arnold reveals a little of how he views how many may see the classic striker, versus grappler contest at UFC London, and that he may well have learned a thing or two training from some of his legendary team mates.

Finally he reveals which fighters in the elite end of the UFC Featherweight division he’d like to come up against first and why.
