Frank Camacho: AKA Frank The Crank
Hailing from Guam, Frank Camacho is the pride of the Pacific Islands. Frank has fought hard for everything he has achieved.
Frank Camacho began his MMA career after being inspired as a teenager by PRIDE and the UFC. At 15 years old, he started training at Trench Tech Purebred in Saipan with Tetsuji Kato and Cuki Alvarez. He quickly developed as a fighter and in 2005, aged 18, he had his first professional fight, winning with a slam.
Frank stayed in the Pacific fighting circuit until 2017, racking up an impressive 20-4 record before entering the UFC. In 2012, Frank was entered into TUF 16, but was eliminated from the competition, supposedly ending his UFC aspirations. After five more years domination the Lightweight and Welterweight divisions in the Pacific, Frank caught the attention of the UFC once again.
Aside from MMA, Frank has an impressive grappling record. Aside from winning gold in wrestling in the Micronesian Games, he took the Jiu Jitsu World Championship Title at the 2010 IBJJF Worlds, to cap off medalling in the Pans, Europeans and Asians. While Frank has a top pedigree in grappling, he has won 17 of his 22 victories by way of knockout, a testament to his powerful striking.
Having earned his spot, Frank Camacho has fought seven times in the UFC. He has had a few setbacks, but Frank is no stranger to coming back and showing that hard work pays off. Each time he is knocked down, Frank goes back to work and trains even harder for his next fight.
His next bout against the up-and-coming Brok Weaver is sure to be a battle, with both men looking to prove themselves. Frank will be pitting his impressive striking against another great striker in what is set to be an exciting match up of two men who want to cement their place in the UFC.
