Quick Verdict
PhenQ is one of my favorite natural fat burners because it helped me shed 20 lbs in less than a month. The remarkable results were achieved thanks to the reduced appetite, increased metabolism, and increased fat-burning rate PhenQ’s clever formulation facilitated.
Phengold is also a good fat burner with a potent formulation, but after the initial positive results I experienced, the effects plateaued and were far less palpable. Because both supplements are roughly the same price, PhenQ wins my money every time.

PhenQ is the superior weight loss supplement because of the range of ingredients in the formulation and the positive results I’ve experienced using it.
That doesn’t make PhenGold useless. PhenGold has a higher caffeine dose and more nootropic ingredients if you’re low on energy.

PhenQ vs. PhenGold Main Differences
Benefits
PhenQ and PhenGold are two popular weight loss supplements that have garnered attention for their effectiveness in supporting healthy weight management.
PhenQ takes a multifaceted approach to weight loss, targeting the body’s metabolism, appetite, and energy levels.
Its unique formula contains ingredients like ?-Lacys Reset®, which helps to boost metabolism and thermogenesis, enabling the body to burn more calories even at rest.
Additionally, PhenQ includes natural appetite suppressants, such as nopal cactus and chromium picolinate, which help reduce cravings and control calorie intake, making it easier to maintain a calorie deficit.
The supplement also enhances energy levels through ingredients like caffeine and capsimax powder, ensuring users stay active and motivated throughout the day.
It’s part of the reason why it’s on my list of best fat burners for women over 50.
Similarly, PhenGold offers a powerful blend of ingredients to accelerate fat loss while supporting overall well-being. PhenGold’s formula is rich in natural stimulants like green tea extract, green coffee, and cayenne pepper, all known to boost metabolism and increase fat burning.
These ingredients also boost energy, helping users stay focused and energized, which is especially beneficial during workouts.
Furthermore, PhenGold contains mood-enhancing compounds like Rhodiola rosea, which can help reduce stress and fatigue, often associated with dieting.
This not only aids in maintaining a positive mindset but also helps to prevent emotional eating, a common hurdle in weight loss journeys.
Ingredients
Both supplements contain natural ingredients that target different areas that contribute to weight loss. They also provide other health benefits, such as increased energy levels and reduced stress.
PhenQ contains some patented blends, which is often a red flag for me, but with this product, they are all supported by clinical studies.
A-Lacys Reset is a patented recipe that combines alpha-lipoic acid and cysteine. It’s intended to boost metabolism and speed up the body’s thermogenic processes, allowing you to burn more calories.
One clinical study reported that people taking a-Lacys Reset lost 7.24% of their body fat and 3.44% of their body weight while boosting muscle mass by 3.80% [1].
Capsimax Powder comprises capsicum, piperine, caffeine, and niacin (vitamin B3). This combo is a potent fat burner.
Capsicum, derived from red chili peppers, has thermogenic characteristics that aid metabolism. Piperine (black pepper) increases the bioavailability of other nutrients, boosting the formula’s effectiveness [2][3].
Chromium Picolinate is a mineral that helps manage blood glucose levels and minimize cravings for carbohydrates and sugars.
A study found that people who took chromium picolinate had lower food consumption, less hunger, and fewer desires for fat [4].
L-carnitine fumarate is an amino acid that helps transform stored fat into energy, hence improving physical performance and lowering fatigue [5].
Caffeine is a well-known stimulant that increases alertness and combats fatigue. In the context of PhenQ, it also helps enhance thermogenesis and fat loss [6][7].
Nopal Cactus is high in fiber, which aids in appetite reduction. Studies have shown that Nopal can help reduce hunger and minimize fat absorption, resulting in more significant weight loss over time [8].
PhenQ also contains the Innoslim blend, which combines two herbs, B vitamins and Iodine. Iodine is necessary for health thyroid function, which regulates metabolism [9].
Now, let’s look at the Phengold ingredients.
Green unroasted coffee beans are beneficial for due to their high chlorogenic acid content. Chlorogenic acid, an antioxidant, can help decrease blood pressure and aid weight reduction by lowering carbohydrate absorption from the digestive tract [10][11].
Green tea extract, made from green tea leaves, is an important component of PhenGold. Green tea, which is rich in antioxidants like catechins, stimulates metabolism and promotes fat-burning [12].
L-theanine is an amino acid frequently found in tea leaves. It induces relaxation without sleepiness and improves focus and concentration [13].
Another amino acid, L-tyrosine, is responsible for the production of neurotransmitters, including dopamine and adrenaline. These are vital for managing stress, cognitive function, and general mood [14].
Cayenne pepper is a recognized spice containing capsaicin, which is believed to stimulate metabolism and aid in fat loss.
Capsaicin boosts the body’s heat production, which promotes calorie expenditure even during rest [15].
Like PhenQ, Phegold also contains caffeine. The stimulant’s effects are well known, and in the Phengold formulation, it works synergistically with L-theanine and green tea extract to boost the overall benefits and dampen the potential side effects.
The remaining ingredients in Phengold include vitamins B3, B6, B12, Rhodiola Rosea, and Bioperine.
Effectiveness
PhenQ was the much more effective product in my test. While Phengold also helped me shed a few pounds and increased my energy levels, PhenQ’s effect was nothing short of spectacular.
The supplement helped me lose 20 lbs in one month, which was incredible. Of course, it did not work on its own, and I did my hard training as I always do, but the reduced appetite was a game-changer in helping me resist cravings.
Additional benefits I experienced were a boost in energy levels and mood.
Clinical Research
The clinical research on PhenQ and PhenGold underscores their credibility and effectiveness as weight loss supplements.
Every Phengold ingredient is well-known and researched, and while complete formulation studies are lacking, the natural components are validated by science,
Scientific studies support PhenQ’s formulation and highlight the benefits of its key ingredients. I usually don’t like proprietary blends because they are used to hide low dosages.
Still, PhenQ’s trademark mixes have been tested to prove their effectiveness, and I have shared some relevant data in the ingredients section of this review.
Side Effects
While PhenQ and PhenGold are formulated with natural ingredients and are generally well-tolerated, some users may experience mild side effects. For PhenQ, the presence of caffeine and other stimulants can lead to issues such as jitteriness, headaches, or insomnia, especially in those sensitive to caffeine.
The same goes for PhenGold. With a solid dose of caffeine inside, it’s best to take the supplements earlier in the day because if you choose the afternoon or evening, there is a chance they will disrupt your sleep.
I can also attest to this. After a couple of restless nights, I stopped taking the pills after noon, despite Phengold’s suggestion to take one in the evening.
Additionally, some users might experience mild digestive discomfort due to the high fiber content of ingredients like nopal cactus.
Despite my remarkable success with PhenQ, I also need to share that I experienced some stomach discomfort on a few occasions.
PhenGold, though also considered safe, may cause similar caffeine-related side effects and digestive issues. The inclusion of Rhodiola rosea, while beneficial for reducing stress, might cause dizziness or dry mouth in some users.
It’s always advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before starting either supplement, especially for those with underlying health conditions or taking other medications.
User Reviews
I’ve seen countless success stories about PhenQ, ranging from tiny weight changes to tremendous transformations.
Many users share their success stories, where PhenQ has helped them lose 10, 15, and even 30 lbs of weight in a few short months.
Users are also happy to share that they frequently enjoy better mood, motivation, and higher energy levels in addition to the main weight loss effects.
Not all reviews are glowing, though. Some report only minor improvements even with a strict diet and training regime, meaning the effects may not come from the supplement.
The high price is also frequently mentioned in reviews, even from people who have enjoyed the benefits of PhenQ.
The story with Phengoold is similar. Many customers rave about their weight loss journeys aided by the supplement.
Also similar are the mixed and negative reviews. So, while many see tangible benefits, results vary greatly between individuals and can be influenced by a multitude of lifestyle and genetic factors.

My Experience With PhenQ And PhenGold
My experience with PhenQ was remarkable. I lost 20 lbs in a little over three weeks, and I admit I wasn’t expecting that.
Of course, the effort was strongly supported by a solid diet and a good training plan, but I’ve done both many times before and have never gotten such results.
By the end of the first week, as my body got used to PhenQ, my appetite had significantly reduced, perhaps the main reason for the weight loss. The supplement elevated my energy levels in the second week and allowed me to work harder.
As a nice side effect, I noticed that my mood was better. Perhaps it was the ingredients or the rapid weight loss, but either way, I was feeling more optimistic and in high spirits.
By the fourth week, the scale showed I had lost 20 lbs, which was way beyond my expectations. It’s why it made my list of best fat burners for men over 40.
One negative I must mention again is the stomach issues I experienced, including bloating and gas, which occurred a few times in the first couple of weeks. But given the result, this is a small price to pay.
Phengold didn’t have the same level of success. The energy boost and lower appetite quickly became evident when I started taking it, and I lost a few pounds in the first week.
But then the progress stalled, and there weren’t any more notable changes for the rest of the month I took it.
At least I didn’t experience side effects, and my energy levels and mood were elevated the entire time.
Should You Choose PhenQ or PhenGold?
PhenQ is my top recommendation over any other natural fat burner, including PhenGold. The formulation tackles weight loss in multiple ways, and the cumulative effects of increased metabolism, suppressed appetite, more fat burning, and higher energy do their job remarkably well.
PhenGold is also a solid fat burner with a good formulation, which helps to a degree, but in this case, it lacks the punch to compete with PhenQ.
But remember that natural fat burners will not suddenly make you lose all your extra fat while lying on the couch snacking on junk food. They are a great helper but will always require your efforts in the gym and kitchen.
