Prime Male vs. Nugenix Total T (I Tried Both): Who Wins In 2024?

Quick Verdict

Prime Male has won many testosterone booster comparisons and gets the gold again when compared to Nugenix. The clever formulation contains nearly a dozen well-known natural testosterone boosters and has the potential to deliver on its promises regardless of the reason you may have low testosterone.

Nugenic has a more narrowly focused formulation, which missed the mark in my test. At the same price as Prime Male, I can’t see a reason why one would choose Nugenix.

Prime Male vs. Nugenix Main Differences

Benefits

Prime Male Vitality and Nugenix Total T are both supplements designed to support men’s health. Each offers unique benefits aimed at enhancing overall well-being.

Prime Male Vitality focuses on helping men maintain peak performance as they age. It works by naturally boosting energy levels and improving stamina and endurance in physical and mental activities.

Nugenix Total T is also tailored to increase testosterone levels, which can decline with age. By supporting healthy testosterone production, Nugenix Total T helps improve physical performance, including strength and endurance.

The product also includes some ingredients like L-citrulline and the elevATP blend, which are more narrowly targeted to fitness enthusiasts and athletes and can potentially improve physical performance and results without directly influencing testosterone.

Users may experience enhanced energy, contributing to better workout results and increased motivation.

Both supplements are designed to address the challenges men face as they age, offering benefits that can help maintain a sense of youthfulness and vitality.

Whether you want to enhance your physical performance, boost energy levels, or support healthy testosterone production, Prime Male Vitality and Nugenix Total T provide effective solutions tailored to your needs.

Ingredients

Unlike most of the popular natural testosterone boosters, which have at least half of their ingredients matching, Prime Male and Nugenix are more different.

Prime Male Vitality’s ingredients list is completely transparent, while Nugenix uses some blends. With only a couple of ingredients inside and a clear total weight, we can still compare them to clinical dosage guidelines.

D-aspartic acid is a natural amino acid that the body needs to create testosterone and luteinizing hormone, and Prime Male contains a potent 1600 mg dose.

DAA supplementation delivers various benefits, including higher sperm quality, increased sperm production, enhanced sexual health, increased muscle growth, improved physical performance, and increased energy levels [1].

Panax Ginseng, also known as the “King of Herbs,” is widely utilized in traditional medicine for its rejuvenating properties and is present in Prime Male.

Research highlights Panax Ginseng’s function in enhancing physical performance, lowering weariness, and boosting sexual health, all linked to testosterone health [2].

Prime Mail contains vitamin D, which does not directly stimulate testosterone production. However, treating vitamin D insufficiency has been demonstrated to restore healthy testosterone levels while boosting immunological function and enhancing bone health [5].

Zinc is essential for immunological function, DNA synthesis, and testosterone production [4].

Zinc insufficiency has been related to lower testosterone levels, making its presence in the two formulations significant. However, Nugenix only has 1 mg of zinc compared to Prime Male’s 30 mg dose.

Prime Male includes magnesium, strongly linked to testosterone and especially beneficial for those with testosterone deficits [8].

Prime Male and Nugenix contain boron, an essential element for men. The data clearly suggest that boron supplementation enhances steroid hormone levels in both men and women, particularly testosterone [7]. Nugenix has 10 mg of boron, twice as much as Prime Male.

Vitamin K2, a fat-soluble vitamin comparable to vitamin D, stimulates natural testosterone production. K2 is the most rapidly absorbed and effective type of vitamin and can be found inside Prime Male [9].

Clinical studies consistently show that Ashwagandha significantly increases serum testosterone levels after approximately eight weeks of supplementation [6].

This root extract has also been linked to increased muscle strength and recovery, making it a versatile supplement for anyone trying to improve their fitness. Prime Male contains 300 mg of Ashwagandha.

Studies show that nettle root inhibits the aromatase enzyme in prostate tissue [3]. This enzyme reduces the amount of testosterone converted into estrogen, leaving more testosterone accessible. Nettle Leaf extract is a part of the Prime Male formulation.

Nugenix contains 1125 mg of citrulline malate. The amino acid is known for its capacity to convert to arginine, which transforms into nitric oxide. This process relaxes blood vessels, improving circulation and oxygen delivery to tissues, including muscles [10].

Tesnor® is a proprietary cocoa bean and pomegranate peel extract that boosts testosterone levels and promotes muscle strength and growth.

This patented mixture stimulates in-cell testosterone production while inhibiting aromatase activity, which turns testosterone into estrogen [11].

The elevATP® blend in Nugenix mixes ancient peat and apple extracts to boost the body’s generation of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is required for energy transfer inside cells.

Several studies suggest that elevATP® enhances athletic performance by increasing ATP levels in the body, which translates to greater stamina and strength during exercises [12][13].

Another noteworthy inclusion in the Nugenix formulation is Tongkat Ali extract, renowned for its testosterone-boosting and aphrodisiac properties. Research has shown that Tonkgat Ali can help increase muscular growth and libido [14].

Nugenix also offers another version of its testosterone boosters, the Total T Maxx. This includes solid doses of proven ingredients such as Fenugreek, Ashwagandha, shilajit, Rhodiola, Maca, and Ginseng.

However, the price is twice as much as the regular product and even compared to premium boosters, and I don’t believe it’s worth it, so I’ve tested the standard Total T version.

Effectiveness

Despite the many positive user reviews for Nugenix, only Prime Male has been truly effective in my experience.

Prime Male took a few weeks to develop in my body, but once it did, I noticed an improvement in my gym results and achieved several personal bests that I had worked on for quite some time.

I also saw a rise in my energy, mood, and drive over time, significantly impacting all aspects of my life.

Nugenix had a more modest overall effect. Given the specific formulation aimed at this goal, I expected better gym results, but the benefits were nowhere near as pronounced as I would have hoped.

Clinical Research

The clinical research behind Prime Male Vitality and Nugenix Total T highlights the scientific foundations that support their effectiveness in promoting men’s health.

Prime Male Vitality is formulated with ingredients that have been extensively studied for their role in enhancing testosterone levels, improving energy, and supporting overall well-being.

While complete formulation studies are lacking, comprehensive research on its components clearly shows a big potential to deliver the promised effects.

Nugenix has two unique blends, Tesnor and elevATP. While I am very suspicious of proprietary blends, both of these have clinical research backing their positive effects in the dosages they are included in Nugenix.

Side Effects

It’s important to be aware of potential side effects when considering supplements like Prime Male Vitality and Nugenix Total T, although most users tolerate both products well.

Prime Male Vitality is formulated with natural ingredients and is designed to be safe for long-term use. However, some individuals might experience mild side effects such as digestive discomfort, headaches, or mood changes, particularly when first starting the supplement.

Nugenix Total T also uses natural ingredients to minimize the risk of adverse effects. As with Prime Male, some users may experience mild side effects, including nausea, headaches, or upset stomach.

Both supplements are considered safe when used as directed, and my experiences with them have not been marked by side effects. However, some users can experience issues, as shared in some user reviews.

User Reviews

Prime Male Vitality has a solid 4/5 rating on Amazon, and most consumers report that with long-term use, the supplement helps them achieve their goals, whether weight loss, stress alleviation, or muscle building.

The official website where most people would get the product lacks a detailed user review section, so we can only judge by the Amazon reviews, which are not yet enough in number to get a complete picture.

Nugenix Total T has significantly more Amazon reviews (over 13k at the moment of writing this), and with a score of 4.1, they show a great appreciation for the product.

Several users have reported significant improvements in their overall well-being, more productive workouts, and less fatigue after taking Nugenix Total T for a couple of months.

However, there are also many mixed and negative reviews. People complain that the product had no effect after two months of intake, and some even experienced minor side effects.

My Experience With Prime Male And Nugenix

I often praise Prime Male mainly because of my positive experience with it. The supplement raised my energy levels and mood in the first month, which prompted me to extend the test to 3 months to see what it can truly offer, as is the case with most supplements and certainly for testosterone boosters.

From the middle of the second month, all of the promises materialized, and I was in a better mood and had more energy. I worked out harder, recovered better, and was more focused during work.

The four capsule doses were easy to take, and the pills were easy to swallow. With that said, I am someone who is generally on some supplements year-round, so I am very used to pills.

But for all my praise, it’s always good to note that the effects aren’t groundbreaking. These are subtle positive shifts in the right direction that compound over time. It’s not like you wake up and feel a different man ready to conquer the world.

Nugenix, on the other hand, failed to deliver. The formulation is more geared towards gym goers, and I was excited to see the effects of the proprietary blends, which contain known enhancers, but the effects did not appear.

My energy levels stayed the same, and I didn’t feel any better in or out of the gym. Perhaps the doses are too low for someone like me who has tried most of these ingredients before, but after 30 days of no effects, I decided to end my Nugenix trial.

Should You Choose Prime Male Or Nugenix?

Prime Male is definitely my recommendation in this comparison. Not only did it deliver many positive effects for me personally, but the formulation is generally better and more comprehensive.

It tackles more areas of possible low testosterone causes and is mainly targeted at men over 30, who are starting to experience a decline in their most “manly” hormone.

Nugenix was formulated with physical performance in mind, but it failed to deliver the goods in my test. The rest of the formulation lacks sufficient proven testosterone boosters to deliver a meaningful result.

It’s worth noting that many users claim they’ve reaped many benefits, so as with every supplement, results can vary significantly from individual to individual.
