Platinum Multivitamin is a MuscleTech vitamins and minerals supplement designed to provide daily nutritional support to active individuals. Its complete formula features vitamins A, C, D, E, B6, B1, B2, B3, B9, B12, B7, and B5, as well as various minerals, amino acids, herbs, and digestive enzymes.
I was eager to try what seemed like an advanced multivitamin complex designed to provide general health support. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that it is not an excellent vitamin supplement, and here’s why.
Pros
- Most of the vitamins are present in reasonable quantities
- It can help give you more energy and let you stay active
- It has an excellent price tag compared to other vitamins of a similar quality product
- Made by a well-known brand
Cons
- The pills are not easy to swallow due to their size and taste
- Some people have complained about the appearance of the pills and them causing stomach issues
- Many of the ingredients other than the vitamins have been insufficiently dosed
- Provides very little in the way of health or immune support
Quick Verdict
The Muscletech Multi-Vitamin is an advanced multivitamin complex packed with essential vitamins and minerals, plus some other ingredients, that’ll keep you healthy and provide added benefits. However, a closer review reveals that it is not a great product and won’t produce the expected results.
Instead, we suggest you try Prime Male T Vitamins. A truly great addition to your supplement regimen, it is filled with all the vitamins and minerals you need to support your overall health while boosting other quality nutrients that add unique benefits for everyone, from elite athletes to older adults.
MuscleTech Platinum Multivitamin Ingredients
The Muscletech multivitamin mainly contains vitamins and minerals but also some additional ingredients, which are split into Amino Support, herbal Matrix, and Enzyme Complex.
Vitamin A – 1,800 MCG
Vitamin A improves growth, vision, heart, lung, immune system, skin health, reproductive and cellular functions, and getting enough of it is vital for the body to function optimally [1].
Vitamin C – 135 MG
Vitamin C aids collagen and neurotransmitter production, improves bone, cartilage, muscle, organ, skin, and tooth strength, growth and repair, boosts the immune system, helps prevent diseases, and makes it easier for the body to absorb nutrients like vitamins and minerals [2].
Vitamin D – 10 MCG
Vitamin D is vital for keeping bones, hearts, and muscles strong, boosting mood and immune system, preventing depression, and regulating testosterone production and levels.
The issue is that the Muscletech multivitamin only contains half the amount required to produce these effects to their fullest [3].
Vitamin E – 40.1 MG
Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant the human body requires to maintain nerves and cells, ensure the blood, eyes, skin, and brain function properly, and prevent or combat inflammation, oxidative stress, and damage [4].
Thiamine – 20.2 MG
Thiamine is essential for cell growth and development and the breakdown of sugar and amino acids. It can boost focus, energy levels, and nerve functions and prevent nerve damage.
However, being included in a dose almost 17 times the recommended daily intake could also lead to side effects [5].
Riboflavin – 13.3 MG
Riboflavin enhances antibody and blood cell production, muscle, organ, and skin growth and repair, nutrient metabolism, digestion, and cellular respiration throughout the body, and reduces inflammation.
Unfortunately, with a dose more than 10 times its recommended daily intake being present, it may also cause side effects [6].
Niacin – 30 MG
Niacin improves brain, joint, organ, skin, digestive, and nervous system health and functions, as well as energy and cholesterol levels [7].
Vitamin B6 – 10.2 MG
Vitamin B6 is vital to maintaining energy levels, combating fatigue, supporting amino acid, fat, and sugar metabolism, and boosting immune system health and functions, neurotransmitter biosynthesis, brain health and functions, and mental clarity.
However, as a dose six times the recommended daily intake is present here, it could also lead to side effects [8].
Folate – 510 MCG
Folate is vital to helping the body produce DNA and RNA, metabolize amino acids (among other things), build and repair bodily tissues, prevent anemia and its symptoms, regulate testosterone levels, and keep sexual organs functioning correctly [9].
Vitamin B12 – 100 MCG
Vitamin B12 supports the brain and nerves, aids DNA, bone marrow, nerve, red blood cell, and testosterone production, keeps you energetic, boosts your metabolic rate, and prevents brain fog, depression, mental decline, mood swings, and mental issues.
However, as it has been included in a dosage that is almost 42 times your recommended daily intake, it is also highly likely to cause side effects, such as stomach problems, in this particular supplement [10].
Biotin – 165 MCG
Biotin is well known for keeping bones, hair, nails, and skin healthy. Still, it also aids amino acid, carbohydrate, and fat metabolism, regulates blood sugar and enzyme levels, and supports the eyes, liver, and central nervous system.
The problem is that 5 and 1/2 times your recommended daily biotin intake is included here. It could also lead to side effects [11].
Pantothenic Acid – 80 MG
Pantothenic acid improves the metabolism of fatty acids and the production of neurotransmitters, prevents mental fatigue, and enhances your memory, brain, and nervous system.
Yet again, though, at 16 times your recommended daily intake, it could also cause side effects [12].
Choline – 10 MG
Choline supports the brain, enhances memory, focus, motivation, learning ability, and overall cognitive performance, and improves muscle contractions, fat loss, nutrient metabolism, and cholesterol levels.
Unfortunately, the miniscule amount present here is unlikely to do any of this [13].
Calcium – 180 MG
Calcium is well known for keeping the bones and heart strong and working properly. It can also regulate hormone levels and production, support muscle growth and weight loss, and enhance overall well-being.
Again, though, with such a small amount of calcium present, it will likely do little, if anything, here [14].
Magnesium – 145 MG
Magnesium promotes mental and physical relaxation, improves sleep quality, bone and muscle strength, and testosterone levels, reduces pain and sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) levels, and prevents dehydration.
With just a third of its required daily intake being present here, though, it is unlikely to do much of this [15].
Zinc – 13.3 MG
Zinc aids growth, testosterone, and DNA synthesis, enhances vision, mood, and metabolic rate, reduces inflammation and the signs of aging, supports the immune system, and improves wound healing and blood clotting [16].
Copper – 1.05 MG
Copper supports the blood vessels, bones, hair, nerves, respiratory, and immune systems. It aids red blood cell production and nutrient absorption and prevents heart disease and osteopetrosis [17].
Manganese – 2.2 MG
Manganese is vital for bone formation and growth. It also improves nutrient metabolism, blood sugar levels, brain and nerve functions, and prevents or reduces inflammation [18].
Molybdenum – 10 MCG
Molybdenum supports DNA and protein synthesis, helps the body break down toxic substances, and prevents them from harming the body.
With only a fifth of your recommended daily intake included here, though, its presence is likely to have no effect [19].
Sodium – 20 MG
Sodium can enhance nerve impulses, muscular contractions, and the water mineral balance in our body.
However, it will likely do nothing with only a miniscule amount present here [20].
Potassium – 40 MG
Potassium promotes optimal fluid levels in the cells throughout your body, supports the joints, improves nerve signals, muscle contractions, insulin sensitivity, blood pressure levels, nutrient utilization, waste removal, and heart rate, and reduces inflammation.
Yet again, though, the tiny amount present here will likely do nothing [21].
Amino Support Matrix – 816 MG
The Amino Support Matrix is an amino acid blend consisting of glycine, l-methionine, l-citrulline malate, l-arginine HCL, and l-cysteine. These are largely included to support the muscles and improve strength and physical performance.
However, as most of the blend comprises glycine, a non-essential amino acid easily obtained from food, it is far less valuable than a reasonable dose of simple BCAAs [22].
Herbal Matrix – 401 MG
The Herbal Matrix contains ginkgo biloba powder, green coffee extract, grape extract, turmeric extract, saw palmetto extract, echinacea extract, and octacosanol. Except for octacosanol, all these compounds have been proven to offer many benefits for the human body.
However, as none of them have been included in dosages strong enough to produce said benefits, there is no point discussing what they are, as the blend seems to have been solely included to get their names on the packaging.
Mineral Support Complex – 115 MG
The Mineral Support Complex comprises potassium, choline, inositol, and boron. While we already saw two of these minerals independently, the other two, inositol and boron, are new.
Inositol is said to improve blood sugar and cholesterol levels, insulin sensitivity, weight loss, serotonin production, and mood, combat polycystic ovary syndrome, diabetes, and stress, and make it easier to relax and fall asleep, but none of these claims have ever been proven [23].
Boron improves testosterone production, levels, and blood flow, supports the bones, brain, and testicles, and reduces inflammation, cholesterol, estrogen, and sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) levels [24].
Enzyme Complex – 50 MG
The Enzyme Complex consists of the digestive enzymes amylase and papain, which can support the gut and improve your digestive functions.
However, as you need hundreds of milligrams of each digestive enzyme for it to be of any use, and the entire blend seen here weighs just 50 mg, it isn’t beneficial and only included to get it on the packaging, much like we saw earlier with the herbal blend.
MuscleTech Platinum Multivitamin Price
The Muscletech multivitamin varies in price depending on where you purchase it from. Still, Amazon, the most popular source, sells it for $13.49 for a 30-serving pot and $23.72 for a 60-serving pot at the time of writing, which works out at $0.45 and $0.39 per serving, respectively, which is pretty reasonable.
Multivitamin | 30 Servings | 60 Servings |

Muscletech | $13.49 ($0.45 per serving) | $23.72 ($0.39 per serving) |

My Experience With The Muscletech Platinum Multivitamin
Upon receiving the Muscletech multivitamin, I was immediately impressed by the quality of the product’s manufacture and design. I was also pleasantly surprised by the exact dosages listed for everything on the entire label.
Unfortunately, my experience only went downhill from there. When I took my first dose, I noticed that the pills were not particularly easy to swallow, both due to their size and taste, which will make many people less likely to use it long term than they would multivitamins from other brands.
After completing the whole bottle per the directions and ensuring I drank lots of water, I did not experience any side effects. Still, I also did not notice any real benefits.
While I did feel a slight energy boost, which could be useful for supporting an active lifestyle, I did not feel any of the health or immune support you expect when using multivitamins.
This all made me feel that even what appeared to be a great price provided less value than many other pills I had tried.
Customer Muscletech Platinum Multivitamin Reviews
The Platinum Multi-Vitamin has a 4.5 out of 5-star rating with past users on Amazon, which is very impressive and compares favorably to many other multivitamins.
When looking at the positive reviews, most focus heavily on the quality of the product’s manufacture and the good value it offers. A number also talk about how impressive they found the quantity of most of the vitamins present, with the exception of vitamin D.
However, what is notable by its absence is any mention of how the product affected them, other than to say that it gave them a little more energy and helped them focus.
There were then also several people who raised issues with the multivitamin.
These included the pills not being easy to swallow, having an unpleasant taste and an off-putting, bright yellow color, not producing any notable benefits, and even causing people to experience an upset stomach.
Muscletech Platinum Multi-Vitamin Alternatives
Prime Male T Vitamins
It is easily the best multivitamin for people worried about their testosterone levels and lean muscle mass. It’s why it’s my best multivitamin for men over 40.
However, it is not just good for muscle and testosterone levels; our research shows it can help you meet your daily requirements of virtually all essential nutrients far more effectively than most other multivitamins, making it 5.0 out of 5 stars for most people.
My Prime Male review goes into more detail about the formulation and my experiences.
Performance Lab Nutrigenesis Multi
Performance Lab NutriGenesis® Multi is my best multivitamin for men over 50. It has excellent bioavailability and a comprehensive formula rich in essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin D, Zinc, and B-complex vitamins.
This multivitamin is free from artificial additives, allergens, GMOs, gluten, and soy, making it suitable for individuals with dietary restrictions.
Specifically crafted to cater to men’s nutritional needs, it aids in testosterone production, heart health, and immune function while being vegan-friendly.
However, it is relatively expensive, requires a four-capsule daily dosage, and is exclusively available online.
Despite these drawbacks, its superior quality and effectiveness make it a valuable investment for aging men’s health.
EstroCare MultiVitamin
Formulated to prevent the symptoms many women experience during menopause and keep them healthy, the product is rated 5.0 out of 5 stars and is one of my best multivitamins for women over 40.
Summary
Muscletech claims its pills are superior to other multivitamins and can provide a high level of health and immune support, especially for active individuals. Unfortunately, after doing our own research, it is clear that not only do they do little besides give you a bit of energy, but they are also not very pleasant to use.
Rather than recommend this product, we suggest you try Prime Male T Vitamins. Capable of doing all that the Muscletech product claims to and more, it is truly superior to any multivitamins I have attempted, and I have no problem ranking the quality and value of the product 5.0 out of 5 stars.
